Strapping & Spring Board

Strapping & Spring Board

Strapping has a number of uses.  In the building trades, strapping is most commonly used in the installation of drywall ceilings.  When installed on the bottom of ceiling joists, it creates a better surface for screwing drywall into place.  It also gives the installer an opportunity to "flatten out" the ceiling with the use of shims between the strapping and joists.
